Founder of Hey Quad, a business phone system and AI receptionist for small businesses, built and run in Tampa Bay, FL. Writes about phones, the taxes and fees on a phone bill, and running a voice platform.
Why the advertised seat price is never the bill: state and local communications taxes, the federal Universal Service charge, 911 fees, and the provider's own recovery fees.
What an AI receptionist actually does on a small business call, what it refuses to do, when it hands off to a person, and what it is honestly bad at.

Six questions to ask any phone vendor selling in Florida, including the ones about tax, contract terms, texting fees and who picks up when it breaks.
