Compare · Built in vs. bolted on

Hey Quad vs Quo

Quo, formerly OpenPhone, is the best-made product in this comparison and the closest to us in who it is for. The differences are in what surrounds the phone. Quo connects to HubSpot or Salesforce for customer records; Hey Quad has contacts, a pipeline, tasks and booking built in. Quo has no desk phones; ours are available on request, set up before they ship. Quo’s AI agent is metered in credits, so its cost moves with how busy you are; ours is a named tier with its own pool of minutes, on the same quote as everything else.

What the advertised price leaves out

In Quo’s own words:

Applicable taxes and fees added at checkout

On top of any advertised seat price come your state and local communications taxes, a 911 fee per number, the federal Universal Service charge and, with most providers, a fee line of their own. Our quote lists every one of them for your address before you sign, and adds no “regulatory recovery fee” of our own. What each of those lines is.

Where Quo is better

Quo is the best-made product in this comparison and it is not close. The app is fast, their shared-number model for texting is excellent, and unlimited US and Canada calling and messaging suits a team that talks all day. They publish their carrier registration fees clearly, and they run a free trial so you can find out in a week rather than trusting a demo. If your business is entirely on mobile and you want no desk phones and no onboarding call, Quo is the honest answer.

We would rather you read that here than find it out in month two. If it describes your business, buy theirs.

Questions people ask

Is Hey Quad cheaper than Quo?
Compare the number on the invoice, not the one on a pricing page. Advertised seat prices leave out state and local taxes, the federal Universal Service charge, the provider’s own fee lines and every add-on in the table above. We send a written quote with all of it for your address, each on its own line, and the bill matches it, so you can put the two side by side before you sign.
Do you cover my area?
Tell us where the business is and we’ll quote you, including that location’s taxes and fees, each on its own line.
Can I keep my number if I move from Quo?
Yes. Your number is yours. We handle the port with your current carrier and schedule the switch so your phones do not go quiet in the middle of a workday. The switching guide has the steps.
How is Quo’s Sona AI agent billed?
In credits. Every plan includes a starting allowance and more credits are a paid add-on, so a busy month costs more than a quiet one (read 8 September 2026). Ours is a named monthly tier with its own pool of AI minutes.
Does Quo have a CRM?
It integrates with HubSpot and Salesforce from the Business plan. Hey Quad has its own: contacts, companies, a deals pipeline, tasks and booking pages, with every call and text on one timeline per customer.
Does Quo work with desk phones?
No. Quo is an app on your computer and your phone, and for a lot of businesses that is exactly right. If your front desk needs a handset someone can pick up without unlocking anything, that is a real difference between the two products.
